The Member Self-Service Portal (“MSS Portal” or “Portal”) is maintained for your personal use and viewing. Access and use by you of this site constitutes your acceptance of these Terms of Service. We reserve the right to change the Terms of Service at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Portal and any associated forms or materials will constitute acceptance of any such changes.
Description of Portal. The Portal enables you to access and provide information related to MainePERS, including but not limited to the following: (1) viewing and submitting updates to demographic information; (2) accessing member account statements; (3) downloading MainePERS-related documents to keep for your own records or use; and (4) viewing disbursements, beneficiary elections, and benefit verification documents. The specifically-listed services and functions above are subject to change at any time in MainePERS’ sole discretion.
Errors, Questions, or Complaints. The information provided on the Portal is made available as a convenient resource for eligible members and beneficiaries. While MainePERS makes every attempt to ensure the accuracy of information, human or mechanical error remains a possibility. Your Privacy. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. No Financial, Investment, Legal, Tax, or Other Advice. The information provided on the Portal is not intended to advise users on retirement, investment, legal, or financial matters. MainePERS strongly encourages users to consult with an appropriate MainePERS staff member regarding questions about MainePERS retirement benefits. Protection of Sensitive Information. The MSS Portal contains sensitive personal information, including your social security number. It is strongly recommended you avoid accessing your MSS account in a public place, on a public computer, or using a non-secure internet connection in order to help protect the safety of your data.
By registering and using the MSS Portal, you acknowledge the following:
· You are accessing the MSS account that you created yourself using your own personal information and identity.
· You are not creating an account using another person’s information or identity.
· You are not using an MSS account created by another person or created using another person’s information or identity.
· You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your MSS login credentials (username and password) and for restricting access to your account. MainePERS will never ask you for your current password or security credentials including over the telephone or by email.
